Letter from the Editors:
Rosemont College encourages its students to be opinionated individuals who are not afraid to express their beliefs and follow through with their principles. One can even find these ideals within Rosemont’s mission statement: “Rosemont College seeks to develop in all members of the community open and critical minds.” Our respected professors wisely inform us that we should not sit idly by and observe injustices happening around us. If we, as conscientious citizens, should feel strongly about a particular issue, then we should not let any obstacle hinder our convictions.
For nearly 80 years, the Rambler has served as the students’ vehicle for spreading news and for allowing an outlet of expression for our “open and critical minds.”
We as the Rambler staff communicate our opinions as a means to both inform our fellow students and to promote the improvement of our prestigious college. Our social, political, and campus criticism is used not as a means to demean others’ beliefs, but instead is used to express our individuality, our original, creative ideas, and most importantly, as a tool to bring about positive changes.
The Rambler serves as the prevailing voice of the student body because it is run both by and for the students. However, if any students feel that their opinions are not being properly represented, then we encourage them to take action. Students should not hesitate to write news articles, opinion pieces, letters to the editors, and anything else they so desire.
In addition, any and all questions, comments, and concerns with the content of the Rambler Newspaper should be addressed directly to its editors. We gladly welcome students’ and faculty’s constructive feedback.
Sincerely,
Allison Cepis, Merlyn Mathew, and Maya Davis
