As Thanksgiving break is readily approaching, students are all too eager to go home and
delve into their mom’s or other relative’s cooking – the mouthwatering
stuffing with just all the right seasoning, the grand turkey, soft
mashed potatoes, rich gravy, and sweet apple pie is just too much to
resist.

First off, I would like to say that this is not even a question, for we are born here in the city of Brother-LEE-love and we bleed red, just as it should be. The Phillies are one of the oldest teams and have been around since 1883, while the Yankees started in 1901. Plus, we Phillies fans are born with this true hatred for the blue devils, or as others may refer to them as the Yanks.

It’s
no secret that I am a loyal Yankees fan – if you are my friend you will
know that this is probably an understatement. The week of the ALCS
playoffs and the following World Series proved to be a test of
endurance and patience for not only my Rosemont classmates, but also my
suitemates and friends in the Philadelphia area.

Now that the school year has
officially started and it has been a few weeks in, the first-year students are
now used to the food on and off campus. Regardless of which school you attend, you
have heard of the daunting Freshman 15, those formidable fifteen pounds freshmen
fear of gaining during their first semester of college.

Rosemont
is in shambles. Well, not so much anymore since our co-ed transition. This extra injection of testosterone is just
what this campus has been yearning for all along because apparently, our school
was not good enough before. Shame on you
women, who, despite your best efforts, did nothing to help this school. Obviously, Rosemont women never worked hard,
excelled in academics, organized clubs and events, completed volunteer work, or
instilled an inspiring sense of morality on campus.

Rosemont
is the center of a hub of change; largely due to the increase in the present
male population. Which is great
right? Now everyone has a reason to go
to social events, parties, weekend events.
Heck, the food is better, and everyone can get a taste on the “male
perspective.” I was so busy focusing all
my attention on the new boys (oh, sorry, men) that I didn’t realize they aren’t
the only change here. Now, when I get up
in the morning I almost always wear make-up, something I didn’t used to worry
about.

Life after winning the big election for Barack Obama has been
anything but easy. After failing to
close Guatanamo, causing the biggest “stimulus” driven deficit the world has
ever seen and running into strong opposition to his health care reform efforts,
reality has finally set in for Obama and the Democratic Party. Campaigning is one thing, governing is quite
another.

Released on July 24th, 2009, “Orphan” has become arguably
the best thriller of the year. The movie begins by telling the story of The
Coleman family, in which parents, Kate (Vera Farmiga) and John (Peter
Saarsgard) are grieving the devastating loss of their unborn baby. Though the
loss is taking a great toll on them individually, it's taking an even greater
toll on their marriage. Kate, who is
suffering with traumatic nightmares from the event, suggests that they adopt a
child. The two would've never guessed that this is where their lives would be
completely changed.
