You are more than just your horoscope sun sign found in columns of newspapers and magazines. For years, people religiously read their daily predicted fortune based on the position of the stars for their zodiac horoscope. Did it ever occur to you that astrology is more than just foretelling your romantic passions? Believe it or not, astrology can actually be used as a tool to empower your life!
Astrology is the study of planetary patterns and how they affect human development. Planetary positions influence an individual’s growth. Astrology can be seen as the psychology of astronomy. By studying astrology, you can understand your own life lessons and better understand yourself. Astrology can help you discover your purpose in life and contribute to you reaching your full potential. In this journey of life, astrology can be seen as the map of your soul. It can be used as a guide to point you in the direction of finding yourself.
When a person is born, their exact time of birth, location of birth and date of birth are crucial elements in developing an astrological natal chart. These details create a snapshot of patterns of the planets and twelve zodiac signs-Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. Each zodiac sign is defined by specific characteristics and qualities. If you’re an Aries you are driven with energy, dedication and determination. A Taurus is practical, yet sensual, blending the call of the heart with the mind. If you’re a Gemini you are intellectual, witty, and always examining all perspectives. Cancers are sensitive, creative and nurturing. Leos are generous and love attention. If you’re a Virgo, you are selfless, yet precise and seek perfection. Libras are a thinking sign and strive to achieve balance. Scorpios are passionate, intuitive and very loyal. If you’re a Sagittarius you are optimistic, always on the move and constantly seek the truth. Capricorns are ambitious hard workers and have a lot of pride. If you’re an Aquarius, you are independent, quirky and help the greater good. Pisces are emotional, compassionate, and artistic. All of these definitions have deeper meaning once they are put into context with your astrological natal chart.
Each zodiac sign, rules a section of the natal chart. Think of the natal chart as a circle divided into twelve parts. These parts are called houses that each sign of the zodiac rules. Each house represents a different part of your life. For example, House Number One is about your personal identity. House Number Two represents your personal possessions and the things you value. House Number Three represents communication with relationships. House Number Four deals with your familial roots. House Number Five represents self fulfilling pleasures. House Number Six represents work and jobs. House Number Seven is about romantic relationships. House Number Eight is involved with material objects, loss and service to others. House Number Nine represents education, philosophy and travel. House Number Ten involves career and recognition. House Number Eleven represents your dreams and wishes. House Number Twelve represents service to humanity.
The planets also have significance in an astrological natal chart. The Sun represents your personal identity. The Moon signifies your emotions. Mercury is about reason and ration. Venus is about love, beauty and pleasure. Mars is strong willed, driven and courageous. Jupiter is optimistic and seeks purposeful meaning through spiritual growth. Saturn reveals our physical limitations and conscience. Uranus represents inspiration and be open to all possibilities. Neptune represents illusion and Pluto signifies power and transformation.
